The PTO team hopes that you all had a great first week with the online learning process.  We know that this school year is not starting out as it normally would, but rest assured, we are excited to have you as part of our school and look forward to getting to know you and your children in person when we are allowed to be back together.  We want to be a resource for you and your family now and in the future.

We encourage you to join the PTO. Please take a look at our website at and “LIKE” us on Facebook as well as subscribe to our newsletter to get involved now as well as much as possible once we are able to and back on campus.

Message from the Principal:

Dear Redfield Families,

Welcome to 2020-2021 school year! Our school theme this year is “We Are All on The Same Team!”  Despite the challenges we are facing, our entire Redfield team is demonstrating how strong, dedicated and committed we are to our students and to one another.

While we have not finalized decisions regarding the “Return to Learn” plan, I encourage all families to watch the next SUSD Governing Board meeting at 5:00pm on September 1st.  More information to come!

I will also be hosting a virtual, live “Town Hall” event on Thursday September 3rd,  to provide updated information and to answer your questions. The link for the town hall event will be included in announcements beginning on August 31st.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions:

Redfield Elementary Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is the Redfield Elementary PTO?
PTO stands for Parent Teacher Organization. The Redfield PTO is a nonprofit group comprised of parents, teachers, and staff dedicated to improving the educational experience of all students at Redfield Elementary School. Our goals are to encourage interaction between family and our school, serve as a source of support, and work with teachers, staff, and the community at large to improve our children’s educational experience. The PTO works closely with the school administration to meet this goal.
How can you help the PTO this year?
Please consider helping in any way that fits your schedule. There are many things that you can do to help. Perhaps what works best is to show your support through making a financial contribution or dedicate several hours to a special event or fundraiser.
The amount of time you spend participating in PTO activities is up to your discretion. The important thing is that you become involved in your child’s educational experience.
You may contact the PTO office or any of our Officers and let them know you are interested in volunteering and they will gladly help you find the perfect place. Even though we are all going through this time together and the uncertainty, it is never too late to get involved! Redfield Elementary PTO needs you!

How can I help raise funds and support Redfield Elementary?

What happens to the money raised by the PTO?

Each year a budget is created and voted on by our members.  With this, we decide where the funds will go. Each year the PTO strives to raise at least enough funds to meet some of the items on the wish list of the school administration. While fundraising is not our primary goal, it is an important aspect of the PTO. Money raised by the PTO sponsored events helps purchase supplemental materials for Redfield students, teachers and staff.
One hundred percent of the money raised through PTO goes directly back to benefit the Redfield students. PTO’s role has become even more critical as we raise funds to supplement the cost of the schools’ needs as well as providing necessary items and online courses due to COVID-19.
What programs does PTO fund and support?

We are hoping it will enable more parents to get connected, involved and informed!  More information will be coming soon!

Why should I come to PTO Meetings?
• The number one reason is to benefit your child. In doing so, you also help our school. The PTO is a great opportunity to become involved in your child’s education at Redfield Elementary.

• Get connected! There is no better way to get involved in what is happening or is going to happen at Redfield.

• Stay informed. By getting involved at Redfield, you will be part of the team helping to make positive changes.

• Tap into a network. Come and share ideas, concerns, and experiences with other parents and educators in the community. PTO functions are an opportunity to meet other parents and teachers, build rapport and be informed.

• Be a role model. By becoming active in the PTO, you will be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education. Studies show children do better in school when parents are involved.

• Speak Up. PTO offers a forum for exchanging ideas as well as making suggestions. PTO can be a way for you to more effectively express change at Redfield.

How do I become an officer?
All positions are for a 2-year term. In order to be eligible for officer nominations, one must currently have a student enrolled at Redfield Elementary who will still be a student at our campus during the entire two-year term.
Nominees must complete a Self-Nomination form located on our website and submit your nomination to the current PTO President.  If nominated, you will be required to attend the Board Meetings as well as monthly PTO Meetings.  Once all forms are submitted, the Nominating Committee will select a slate of officers to be presented and voted on at the upcoming PTO meeting.
