SUSD Hosts 2nd Annual Parent University Project

Scottsdale Unified School District’s (SUSD) Community Education department will host its 2nd Annual Parent University Project on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Saguaro High School, 6250 N. 82nd St., Scottsdale 85250.
The Parent University Project provides parents with research-based knowledge, skills and resources to
support their children’s education and increase student achievement. Workshops include: The Building
Blocks of Education, the Adolescent Brain, Social Communications, Homework without Tears, Social
Responsibility as a Bully Prevention Strategy, School Safety, College Planning, Survival Kit for Parents of
Preteens & Teens, Silent but Deadly NCAA Regulations, Internet Safety, Facilitated IEPs and more.
There is no cost to attend the event, and free supervised enrichment classes for children 3-14 years old will be offered. In addition, SUSD student performances will be offered and student art will be exhibited.
SUSD’s Nutrition Services department will offer a Café Dining Expo that will allow participants the opportunity to be the first to taste test and provide feedback on new made from scratch items that will be featured on the SUSD Nutrition Services November menu.
Vendors will be present to share information regarding their organizations and there will be raffles for prizes, including some refurbished home computers
